Back to Business at Wenatchee, Five Classes in Action

After a week off, the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval roars back to life with the 4th race of the 2026 season on Saturday, May 16th . Five classes will hit the high-banked ¼ mile oval for Driver Appreciation night, as the Rockstar Energy B Mods headline the event for Round 3 of their 2026 campaign, along with Round 2 for the Dicks Heating/AC Thunder Cars, the Plumb Perfect Road Runners and B&T Towing Youth Road Runners. The night will also feature the 3rd race of the season for the NAPA Racing Bandoleros.

It’s been a chaotic start to the B Mod season, which has seen its fair share of tough luck in the first two races of the season. The season opener, marred by a multi car accident that saw several cars sustain significant damage, was won by Quincy, WA’s Glenn Knutson, the defending track champion. Knutson would suffer his own accident the following race, a brutal shot head on into the turn 3 wall, with a follow up impact from the 14 of Cody Vickery. Glenns older brother Mike took the win that night two weeks ago. Glenn and the ERE team have been thrashing to have a car ready to go for this weekend, and all signs point green for them to be able to compete. Kaden Steinberg picked up his career best finish last race, a 2nd , while his teammate Jesse Gray picked up his 1st

career top 5 in just his second start. The usual suspects will all be in attendance as well, including Donovan Stevens, Brandon Knouf, John Woodring and others.

The Dicks Heating and Air Conditioning Thunder Cars started their season off with their biggest race of the season, that being the Tommy Wentz Classic, on opening night on April 18th . Dave Lund, who calls Evergreen Speedway home, picked up the win that night. Wenatchee’s Josh Musgrove picked up 2nd , while Moses Lake’s Ron Stewart, driving a re-numbered #9 In Memory of Randy Pugh, came home 3rd in an emotional podium finish for the defending track champion. Round 2 should see more of the same wheel to wheel racing that the Thunder Cars are known for and have made famous for so many years.

Returning to action are the Plumb Perfect Road Runners for their second race of the 2026 campaign. For the last few years, the Road Runners have produced some of the most fun and competitive racing in the Northwest, especially at WVSO. Raelyn Wenneberg took home the first win of the 2026 season, his first win since a lengthy

sabbatical from the sport. This division averages 15-20 cars on any given night and has seen the most different winners in throughout the ranks at Wenatchee over the last 3 years. Will we see another different driver in Victory Lane?

Speaking of Road Runners, a lot of new faces have made their debuts in the B&T Towing Youth Road Runners for 2026. It was Dru Holaday picking up the season opener win for her first career win at a track her family has been synonymous with for so many years. Now Holaday will look to double down, as the hungry teenagers hit the track for their second time this season. Theres a lot of new kids on the block, as Kingston Shawe, Joslynn Estep, Emily Yarborugh, Marissa Jordan and Madison Heinz ALL made their first career starts on April 18th . Tommy Craig, Brooks Knouf, Hunter Richards and Koty Griffith all made their returns as well. Now with a race under their belt, it will no doubt be a lot of fun to watch these kids all grow as the season comes together

The future of racing at WVSO is in good hands as well as the 3rd race of the season for the NAPA Racing Bandoleros hits the track as well. The kids had a double header at the Treetop 150: Leonard Evans Memorial, that saw Matthew Anders win on Friday, and Hunter Maggard win on Saturday. The Bando gang has long been a staple of the Wenatchee Valley family, and as they take the track for the 3rd time this season, the key to this division is getting these kids comfortable behind the wheel of a race car. But don’t let that fool you, these kids are not afraid to get on the wheel and go for it.
