Drifters Set to Rubber Down Wenatchee, B-Mods head 4 Local Classes

The 3rd of three straight races to kick off the 56th season of racing at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval has a slightly different feel to it. While 4 local classes, the Rockstar B Mods, Mini Bombers, Knutson General Construction Crown Vic Stocks, Northwest Vintage Modifieds, will hit the track, the Pro Am Drift Tour will return to WVSO for their 4th consecutive year. What started as a one-off event has evolved into multiple

highly anticipated events on the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval Calander each year. This weekend marks the first of two visits for the PADT to the high banks this season, the other being July 25th . The Pro Am Drift Tour began announcing drivers coming over earlier in the week, including Casey Feriss, Robin Foster, and the

return of the popular Drift Van driven by Kyle Haase.

As far as the racing goes, the night will feature two Modified classes. The Rockstar Energy Drink B-Mods, now in its 6th year of a 2 nd tenure at WVSO, will run their 2 nd race of the 2026 season. The season opener saw defending champion Glenn Knutson of Quincy pick up right where he left off last season, with a win after a late race restart battle with Donovan Stevens. Glenns older brother Mike took home 3rd . One

story that’s being watched is the repair efforts of multiple drivers caught up in accidents in the season opener, including Chandler Holaday, Brad Morrison, Kaden Steinberg and Patrick Sensney. It remains to be seen how many of these drivers will have their cars back together in time for Saturday, but all hands are on deck to get the cars back together.

The other Modified class will have a different feel to it. The first visit of the season of the Northwest Vintage Modifieds marks the return of the popular, old school class. The NWVM is celebrating its 40th anniversary season in 2026, and has seen two different winners in the first two races. Kahl Cheth won the season opening Apple Cup at Tri City Raceway in his Chevy Bel-Air, while his uncle Steve Woods followed

suit at Evergreen last week. A few Wenatchee area locals also look to make noise, as Vern Huson, Randy Adams, Bob and RT Greiner return to the class, while Ephratas Hector Racing marks their first start at Wenatchee with their new car. The father-son tandem have split the first two starts of the year, with Bart Sr finishing 2nd at Apple Cup, while Bart Jr equaled the feat at Evergreen. Other drivers to watch will be Vince Conwell and Jason Quatsoe, both of whom have shown speed early on this season.

The 2nd year of Mini Bombers kicked off two weeks ago as well, and saw Kayleb Gill pick up the win in the season opener. The 2 time Youth Road Runner Champion is building a new car for the sophomore campaign, but with the car not quite finished in time, ran his car from last year in the season opener. Upon completion of the new car, that car will be scaled back down to a Road Runner for a double duty campaign. The same goes for Kellen Ingram, last years Youth Road Runner Champion. Ingrams Mini Bomber suffered

mechanical issues early in the day, forcing him to go double duty in his Road Runner in the season opener. Running the same car is the plan all season long for Makenna Wenneberg-Lutz, as she will run her Road Runner in the Mini Bombes all year as well as a campaign in the Road Runners, which are off this weekend.

The final class in action will be the Knutson General Contracting Crown Vic Stocks. The 3rd year class has seen significant growth for 2026, and saw Bob Keopl grab the win on April 18th . As the class continues its growth, along with a similar division starting at South Sound Speedway this year, watch for more and more cars to join the ranks as the season goes on. Jamie Nyenhuis, the track champion for the class, stated the hope is to be at “9 or 10” cars by the end of the year.

Tickets are on sale now for the 3rd race of 2026, and the action promises to be white hot all night long at the fastest ¼ mile West of the Mississippi River.
