Figure 8 Action Headlines Packed Race Night at Evergreen Speedway

It was a figure eight racing fans dream Saturday, April 25th from the Super Speedway of the West as Evergreen saw dual 40 lap main events for both Outlaw & Super Stock figure eight divisions.

With six classes and 7 main events on tap it was set to be a jammed packed show, The headline were the Outlaws and with twelve cars set to start the main it was shaping up to be a good event. Unfortunately two cars would not make it to the green flag as No. 50 John Carlson was hit in the intersection by the No. 55 of Jessica Wilkinson. That left a now ten car field for the main, the single groove course left the cars running single file most of the night. The No.1 Ryan Clark would make his way to the front thanks to his bumper, No. 9 Dakota Wilkinson the opening night winner finished second and finally out of mechanical purgatory No. 71 Nick Holton finished third.

Mini Stocks returned to action as well, a strong field as well ran a mostly clean race. A big shake up was a late decision for the No. 1 of Cole Rarden, who ended up not starting due to illness, so into the car went sub driver and previous mini stock champion Johan Vick who would bring the car home in fifth after being involved in the lone caution of the night. A strong battle at the front once again saw the No. 221 of Lindon Smith and the No. 97 of Zach Bristol racing hard and close with the two making contact and allowing Bristol to scamper away with the win, Smith would get back to second by the end of the night and No. 21 Justin Brave finished in third.

The other main figure eight class boasted its biggest car count of the year with sixteen cars starting the main with No. 88 Guy Litts starting up front next to the No. 67 of Mackenzie Repin. Litts would get to the front and hold it even while only having one rear brake drum for a long chunk of the race before finally giving the lead up to Carlson in the No. 36. That's how the race would finish after 40 laps.

The Northwest Vintage Mods made their first stop at Evergreen's famed 3/8 mile oval. With drivers from across Washington the class seems strong heading into its 40th season of touring. Bart Hector Jr. grabbed the pole after qualifying and would finish in second, Steve Woods would once again get the best of the track and Jason Quatsoe finished in third.

The Spec Ranger Trucks made a stop through the track and brought a strong show. With seven trucks in the field and the addition of a joker lap, the action had fans in the grandstand glued to the action. Northwest Pro 4 Truck champion Calvin Miller won the event substituting in for the night, Shane Baer finished second and Jonah Vick finished third.

Lastly the tracks Youth Hornet division ran its split main events, kids twelve to 14 make up this class and they are split into a faster and slower based on qualifying. The A group saw Sebastian Paulsen win, Catryna Mahoney in second and Layne Peters in third. The B group was won by Taylor Thompson with River Peter and Kaden Myers on that podium.

Evergreen Speedway returns on May 2nd with Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, Stinger 8s, Hornets and Youth Hornets.
