First Batch of Champions to be CrownedSaturday in Wenatchee

As the 2026 season winds down, September means Champions must be crowned throughout the Northwest. While a couple of tracks have already crowned some of their 2026 Champions, the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval will join the process on Saturday September 19th . A total of 5 Championships will be crowned on that night, as the Cars Tour West Northwest Pro Late Models and Franks Radio Legends will be crowned, alongside three local classes. We will look at the Cars Tour separately, but for now, lets look at the three Track Championships on the line.

The future of racing is in good hands, as the NAPA Racing Bandoleros will wrap up their season. Matthew Anders needs only to stay clean and out of trouble and he will claim his 3rd straight and final Championship in the class. Anders has had an up and down season, but a strong middle stretch has him 63 points ahead of Hunter Maggard and another 34 ahead of Racyn Noel, who both call the Yakima area home. For Anders, this marks his final season in Bando competition. Matthews next move is already in motion, as the team intends to acquire a Legend car for Matthew for 2027 and beyond. Tight battles still exist through the field, as Tyson Knutson sits just 3 points out of 3rd behind Racyn Noel, who just scored her first career Main Event win last time out. 5th place is also close, as Piper Andruss holds a 7 point advantage over Bristol Knutson for the Top 5. With 2 races on the docket this weekend, the points can still very much shake up.

Speaking of Legends, the Apple Valley Pumping Legends will also run 2 main events this weekend, and that points battle will come to the very last lap. Kaleb Keck holds just a 4 point lead over Damein Hariss entering the final weekend of competition. Keck has scored several wins at Wenatchee, while consistency on the part of Harriss has him right with him entering. 43 points back, Kaylee Decker and Carsyn Murphy sit tied for 3rd , while Andrew Zimmer sits 6 points back of them. Keep eyes through the field as the Legends points battle comes down to the wire through the entire rundown.

The closest of all is the Dicks Heating/AC Thunder Cars. One point, only one, seperates Josh Musgrove and Ron Stewart for it all entering the final race weekend. Both would prove to be emotional outcomes. For Musgrove, he twice in the last 4 years has come into the finale with a shot at the title just to come up runner-up. For Stewart, it would mark a 9th career championship, a second straight, but one for his long time teammate Randy Pugh, who passed away before the start of the season. Stewart changed his number from #20 to #9 for his fallen friend, and looks to add title #9 to match. Don’t count Josh Ingram out though, after missing the season opener, Ingram has rallied, winning 4 races, all consecutive, to find himself mathematically eligible to win the title on the final night. He will need plenty of racers luck, but with an entry list of over 20 cars expected, anything is possible.

The final 2 weeks of Wenatchee Valley Super Oval’s season have arrived, and its truly Championship Season in the Valley. It all starts this Saturday September 19th.
