Harvick Sweeps Stateline, Adds Idaho 200 to Resume.

Kevin Harvick went 2 for 2 at Mode Stadium Stateline Speedway by taking home the prestigious Idaho 200 presented by Knottical Marine. Harvick, who had won the Road to the 200 in June, started outside pole for the 200 lap race, his reward for bagging the win in the 150 lap race. Haeden Plybon, who set the new track record of a blistering 12.936 second qualifying lap, jumped out to the early lead. Plybon, a former race champion, set a torrid pace through the first 70 laps, all green flag, opening up more then a straightaway lead over Harvick and the hornets nest for 3rd . It all changed on that critical lap 70. Zach Riehl, who had gone from 17th to 12th in the opening stint, lost

a motor right in front of the leader Plybon, who slid in the fluid and hit the wall. Plybon came in for repairs, but it cost him the lead, dropping him outside the Top 10. Things went from bad to worse for Plybon, as contact with another car causing a caution sent him to the tail end of the field. Plybon would then begin his charge back through the field for the Top 5. That Top 5 was a battle for the ages, with Vito Cancilla, Johvan Dillon, Nick Gibson, Rowdy Rupinski and Casey Jeske all taking turns running in the top 5. At the halfway break, it was Harvick over Cancilla, with Rupinski in 3rd after a battle with Dillon saw Dillon fall to 6th just prior to the break. From there, the Rackley W.A.R. teammates set sail, running 1-2 through the rest of the race, while the battle for 3rd raged on. Late in the going, a caution suddenly brought the 55, the fastest car all weekend, back into the mix for the top 5. As Harvick roared on for the win with Cancilla 2nd , the battle for 3rd was settled with Rupinski, whos father Darren won the race in 2003, adding a podium finish for himself by finishing 3rd , a career best for Rupinski in Cars Tour Northwest

competition. Plybons rally saw a 4th place finish while Johvan Dillon, a son of a former Idaho 200 champion in his own right, came home 5th .

The weekend saw 3 additional classes compete over 3 days. Saturdays program also saw the Gauge Howell Memorial for the Johnson Surveying Hobby Stocks, their biggest race of the year, and the biggest payday for the class of the Northwest’s Calendar, paying a crisp $10,010 to the winner. And for the 2nd year in a row, that payday went to Dave Lund out of Arlington, WA. With family in attendance, Lund powered to 9th after setting a track record of his own, and rolling a 9 on the invert dice. Teammate Doug Porier in his new car, making just the 3rd start ever on the new Camaro, came home 2nd , while Stateline points leader Brandon Garber held off a rally from defending Track Champion Bart Hector Jr for the podium.

Cole Dasenbrock swept the 2 legend races on the weekend, matching his feat in Wenatchee earlier this season. The 2 time champion at Stateline has been racing all over the country this season, including finding Victory Lane at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Dasenbrock set the 3rd new track record of the weekend on night 2, a 14.776. Shane Sawin and Kaleb Keck rounded out the podium both nights, while 20+ Legend cars competed through both nights.

The Bando gang was the final class in action, and saw 3 different winners over the 4 races. Reid Gibson and Matthew Anders battled both nights, seeing Gibson come out on top both nights, while Anders finally snagged his first career Fast Time award at the Post Falls track. Landyn Alexander and Brooklyn Score snagged the other two main events on the weekend, Score’s first of her career. The Legends and Bandoleros will be back in action for 3 straight days at the annual Shootout on August 6, 7 and 8th . The SPEARS Cars Tour West Northwest Pro Late Models now heads to Colorado for the 2nd of 3 Combo races with the Southwest Series.
