Inaugural SPEARS Cars Tour West Northwest Crown to be Claimed

In September of 2006, Wenatchee Valley Super Oval crowned Gary Lewis the final NASCAR Northwest Tour Champion. 20 years and 3 days later, a new Northwest Tour will crown its inaugural Champion, as the SPEARS Cars Tour West Northwest Pro Late Models hit the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval for their 2nd and final visit of 2026. This one holds a much different attitude then the April race won by Alan Cress. This one will see a year long points battle culminate in 125 laps.

5 points. That’s all that separates Corbitt, Oregons Andrew Riehl, and Tuscon, Arizonas Ethan Ebert. While Zach Riehl and Haeden Plybon can still mathematically win the title, all eyes are on the 69 and 9 as they hit the track. For Riehl, the chance to avenge coming up just short to Wyatt Gardner in last years Tri State Championship race no doubt brings an energy to the points leaders crew. A roller coaster season has seen Riehl overcome tough luck early and bounce back to hold the points lead, with a huge rally late at Tri City two weeks ago to finish on the podium no doubt building momentum and confidence. Oh by the way, the winner of that final NASCAR NW Tour race 20 years ago? His father Brandon. If we had to pick a race that would define Andrews season, it wouldn’t be that Tri City race, but rather the Idaho 200. An ill handling race car saw the crew off and on

pit road all night, but the crew kept their heads down and came out with a 14th place finish. That was important, as their title combatant Ebert entered that race with the points lead, but mechanical issues saw him finish last, which gave Riehl the point lead.

For Ebert, a strong run at Tri City saw a win come so close yet so far, as he finished 2 nd to Turner Brown. Ebert has yet to visit Victory Lane in Pro Late Model Competition, but has shown speed at Wenatchee, scoring 2 podium finishes in Super Late Model Competition at the ¼ mile track. Ebert has already claimed one Late Model

Championship in his career, that coming last year at South Sound Speedway. Ebert has turned heads in his 2 nd year of Late Model competition, and will look to add 2 nd career championship to his still young career. While grabbing wins in both Northwest Super Late Model and Cars Tour West Super Late Model competition in 2026 no doubt give

him confidence, its no doubt a high pressure situation for Ebert, entering just 5 points out of the lead, he knows 125 laps can make or break everything for him.
