Boise, ID - Surprising news dropped in the late model world on Wednesday morning on Facebook at about 10:30pst when Trevor Cristiani Racing announced that he and Kasey Kleyn had parted ways effective immediately. The team had completed roughly 1/3rd of their published 21 event schedule on the year, showing good speed but without a win to date on the calendar year.

Kleyn, the 18 year old driver from Quincy, WA, responded to the post on his own racing page, stating "I am incredibly thankful to Trevor Cristiani Racing for the opportunities, memories, friendships, and the belief they had in me over the past few years." Kleyn also states he is excited about what is ahead and teased an announcement about his future coming soon.
This is the second change for Kleyn in the past week, as just six days ago he announced via Facebook that he has cut ties with RaceFace Brand Development.
Kleyn and TCR had made appearances all over the country over the past few years, racing in many Crown Jewel events like the Winchester 400, All-American 400 in Nashville, The Snowball Derby, and more. Kleyn came close to wins in some of these events, including leading laps at Owosso Speedway in the Stars ASA National Series event last August, before being involved in a late race wreck.

Stay tuned to Kasey Kleyn's racing Facebook for the coming updates on his racing plans.
No word is imminent on any other changes with the Cristiani team.
