Total Domination Displayed As Naima Lang Paints Another Masterpiece

Coming into the fourth race night of the season for Pro Late Models at Evergreen Speedway, two numbers stuck out from the start of the season for the ten time track champion No. 00 Naima Lang. Three pole awards, and only one lap led.

Ahead of night three Lang rolled out a new build Joe’s Chassis car that he began work on in the offseason. After the race on May 2nd finishing in third the Lang team knew they had more to figure out he mentioned on the podium.

Firing off with a near full invert and surviving two early single car spins, it would take Lang less than five laps to get to the front and drive away from the field. No. 78 Haley Constance and No. 12 Chad Fitzpatrick did their best to hang with Lang, but were no match as the race ran green to the finish and getting the monkey off the back of Lang. 

With the win it will pull Lang even with Constance in the points standings, it would be Constance first Pro Late Model title and Lang’s tenth. Fitzpatrick sits in a close third.

Street Stocks had an impressive race with close action throughout the race with the final lap coming down to a three wide finish between the No. 1 Steve Ptacek, No. 18 Jackson Beckel and No. 28 Scott LaCross.

LaCross led early before succumbing the lead to Ptacek who looked to be driving away from the rest of the field, until about five laps to go when he started to fade back to the second and third placed cars leading to the finish. On the run off of turn four it would be LaCross getting the push off the middle groove and crossing the line first, claiming his first career win in Street Stocks. Beckel got to the line second, Ptacek came home in third.

Stinger 8s were the lone figure 8 class of the night, with the driver once again leading the most laps but not finishing first being the No. 13 Tyler Draper who would get picked and bumped just shy of a dead heat finish, losing out to the No. 21 of Matt Sommerville, No. 717 Diezel Snyder would round out the podium.

Hornets saw their first back to back winner of the season as the No. 15 Matt Snyder once again made his way to the front early and never looked back. No. 49 Calvin Miller returned to action and finished in second with No. 43 Damon Claibourn in third.

The Youth Hornet division ran their split A & B Main events as well, the class specifically for kids twelve to 14 years old. The B main was won by No. 5 Harligh Jenkins, with No. 28 Miles Hagen and No. 23 Skyler Christiansen on the podium, the A main was won by No. 18 Sebastian Paulsen, with No. 13 Catryna Mahoney in second and No. 4 Taylor Thompson in third.

Evergreen Speedway returns with a two day weekend in celebration of Memorial Day, first is Saturday the 23rd featuring Boat racing, Bump-to-pass, a Mini Stock 50 lap race and more. Then Sunday the 24th will see the return of train racing at the speedway plus figure 8 and fireworks!
