Greg Bennett Survives Late Race Restart, Wins on RevUp Energy Night

In the second to last Pro Late Model race of the year on the 3/8 oval, It was a surprise driver crossing the line first with the No. 98 of Greg Bennett holding on to beat No. 00 Naima Lang and No. 33 Kyle Lang.

The race fired off with No. 12 Chad Fitzpatrick getting to the lead early, before being run down by the No. 78 of Haley Constance. Constance, who set the track record in qualifying has been the driver to beat this year, with five wins in six starts on the 3/8 oval this season.
Constance would then settle in and lead with both Lang’s attempting to run her down, as the laps ticked down it looked like everything was going to go the way of Constance until lap 45 when disaster struck. Constance spun in turn two losing the lead to Naima Lang. Trying to get the car fired the caution would fly and Constance would head to the pits unable to return.
This would leave Naima Lang on the pole with Kyle Lang on the outside, on the restart. On the start race control would bring the start back for Naima jumping before the line, and drop him back a row. This would put Bennett and Kyle Lang on the front row. The three would battle for the final few laps taking the white flag three wide. Getting the muscle out it would be Bennett who would win the scramble to the finish and grab the win, Naima Lang would just follow behind him in second and Kyle Lang finished third.
The finish for Constance drops her into second in the points standings and moves Naima Lang up to the top spot. The Summer Shootout Pro Late race during Summer Showdown weekend will pay a flat 25 points meaning it will all come down to championship night on September 12th.
Outlaw Figure 8’s and Super Stock Figure 8’s both returned to the most dangerous intersection in the west. First in the Outlaw main event, its was the reigning champion No. 1 Ryan Clark returning to victory lane but having to fight for it with championship rival No. 83g Zach Larson. The two beating and banging throughout the main event. Larson would finish off the podium, with No. 50 John Carlson finishing in second and No. 9 Dakota Wilkinson finishing in third.
The Super Stock main event was won by No. 67 Mackenzie Repin, increasing her points lead. No. 45 Chevy Vincent finished in second driving his dads car during the main event after an incident in practice and No. 01 Doug Delfel finished in third. Both classes will return for the Big Ed Ritchie 60 Minutes of Fear.
Hornets saw a first time winner in rookie No. 99 Frank Mirabelli crossing the line in first. No. 77 Christian Miller would finish in second and No. 43 Damon Claibourn would finish in third growing his points lead even further.
Mini Stocks was a hard fought duel between No. 97 Zach Bristol and No. 221 Lindon Smith with Bristol coming out on top. The pole sitter on the night was the No. 16 Travis Woodward, finishing in third keeps a string of podiums going for Woodward.
Youth Hornets saw No. 43 Mason Blodgett win the A-main event with Layne Peters in second and Jaylen Morgan in third. No. 13 Catryna Mahoney wins the B-main event with Sophie Neill in second and Charlee Steevens in third.
