Starks Takes 360 Championship

Alger, WA - Trey Starks picked up another feature win and the season championship in the Exclusive Quality Customs 360 Sprint Cars on First Responders Night sponsored by Nelson Reisner. Shane Smith also picked up a win and championship in the NW Focus Midgets while Austin Kerrigan won the Hornet main event and Steve Peters took the track title for the class. 

The Exclusive Quality Customs 360 Main Event looked like a typical Starks wire to wire win in the making until the final five laps. Levi Hillier worked his way to second place and made big strides in catching Trey but could not get close enough to make the last big push needed to stop him as Starks rode to the win. Hillier was a strong second while Robbie Price ran third. Heat race wins went to Colton Heath, Tyler Thompson and Levi Klatt while Price was quick time. Starks secured both Driver’s and Car Owners points championships with Skagit Speedway while Colton Heath and Thirty Three Motorsports took Driver’s and Car Owner’s points championships with the Summer Challenge Series. 

The NW Focus Midget Season finished its Skagit Speedway leg on Saturday night with Shane Smith taking the feature win and his third track championship home for Bob & Lori Scott. Smith led all 25 laps of the main, fending off pressure from Jonathan Jorgenson and Randy Schaaf who ran second and third. Alex Peck turned the fastest lap in qualifying. Ryan Orchard and Ashley Thompson won the heat races. 

Austin Kerrigan won the feature in the Hornet class, finding his way past Vance Hibbard just after the halfway mark of the main event. Hibbard would finish the final run of his season in second and Bryce Kolar was third place. NW racing legend Steve Peters took his first Skagit Speedway Points Championship home at the end of the night in the Hornets. William Zottneck and Brian Michelson won the heats. Howard Vos was fast time.
